Katushka. Love belongs to those who will die for it
Playing Time: 30 minutes | Playing Space: 7×6 meters | Genre: Musical Dance Theatre
This charming musical story is based on the Biblical story told in I Kings concerning the fight between two prostitutes over the true identity of the infant’s mother. The play follows the humorous and moving journey of Katushka (a village prostitute in Gothic Mongolia) who is given the gift of life in a baby which isn’t hers. After sacrificing all she has for the child and risking her life for it, she says quite innocently, “I guess that means you’re mine now.” In the end, the renegade judge decides that love belongs to those who will die for it. Song, dance and plenty of action frames the message of ‘true love’.
