Playing Time: 40 minutes | Playing Space: 6×5 meters | Genre: Musical Physical Theatre
Set to the rich music of Imants Kalnins’ Fourth Symphony, this unusual ensemble of players moves to the intricate choreography of Kathleen Ann Thompson which portrays the Latvian tale of Saint Katrina-patron saint of Kuldigas. The moving story of her life, faith and her martyrdom on the infamous Katherine wheel is stunningly represented through physical theatre techniques and a sparse, but powerful text. Rhythmically pounding sticks and unforgettable visual metaphors lace the story with startling moments of emotion and pathos.
