The story of Eliezar and his vow to Abraham of the Old Testament carries all the romance, mystery and destiny of a legendary journey… one which would provide a mother for the Hebrew genealogy and the nation of Israel. Why a woman from Haran? How would he know her? Would she come? All these questions are pressed in this physical theatre performance of Rebecca and Eliezar. This Old Testament story is sealed in a lyrical envelope of Latvian folk songs and dance. It is truly an example of creating a different cultural identity for universal truth behind the stories of the Bible.
