Down to the Floor
Playing Time: 30 minutes (70 minutes when combined with The Book of Ruth) | Playing Space: 4×4 meters, 12×12 feet | Genre: Musical Physical Theatre
The threshing floor is a timeless symbol of community life, symbolizing the greatest depths and heights of a man’s life and his personal growth and transformation. This show was inspired by Kathleen Ann Thompson’s own experience in Latvia on the floor of an old rundown mill. The show’s speed, humor, dance and surprises journals the pain, discomfort, humility and courage which it takes to traverse a passage in our life and come out better than before.
*This piece can be combined with THE BOOK OF RUTH for a complete evening.
