T. S. Eliot – Choruses from the Rock
Pageantry and an integration of physical theatre styles creates a multi-media interpretation of T.S. Eliot’s rich reflections out of the book of Nehemiah in the Bible. His famous poem, Choruses from the Rock, looks both backward and forward in time, giving perspective to the viewer of the church’s need to continually rebuild its broken walls and to assess civilization’s progress, or backward motion. Using projections and a stunning sound track, the production plays in silhouette, leaving us with stark and moving impressions that are imprinted on our mind like a Japanese ink on white paper.
